Can you store a lawnmower in a storage container? Now, if you’re looking to make some space, or you’re moving, maybe you need temporary storage for a renovation, whatever the case may be, you need to store your lawnmower. Can you do this in a moving container? Really good question. Now listen up. Generally speaking this depends first and foremost on the type of lawnmower you have. So if you have an electric lawnmower it’s really not a problem at all. All you need to do is really clean it well, wrap it to protect it well, make sure it doesn’t crush anything else. You can look at some of my other videos for tips on how to load your container and it’s not a problem you can store it for as long as you want. However if you have a gas lawnmower this is a bit more tricky. With other companies they will allow you to store a gas lawnmower but But before you do that, you are required to run it until it is completely, completely drained of all gas. This is because when it comes to flammable substances or strong smelling chemicals, you’re not allowed to store them at all in moving containers or even in storage units. So you have to make sure everything is properly drained and then thoroughly cleaned as well. If you own a riding lawnmower, then it’s even trickier than that. because apart from draining all the gas you’re also going to have to particularly remember to drain the oil from it too. Obviously you don’t want any smells and of course you don’t want any damage to whatever is stored inside your container so pay particular attention to this. When you’re booking your unit if you have a gas lawnmower ask specifically if it’s even allowed to be stored and if it is make sure you drain it properly and clean it very very thoroughly before you store it with your other such valuable stuff.
